Free Box Protectors!
over 4 years ago – Thu, Aug 26, 2021 at 05:04:52 PM

The first of our new round of stretch goals has been unlocked, as funding has now exceeded $225K! As a result, all pledges at “Standard Edition” and above will now include a free box protector, to keep your copy of Infinity clean and display-ready!

Again, anyone who already added a box protector to their pledge can simply take it out, although these box protectors will still be available for purchase as an add-on in case you’re needing more than one (for example, if you’ve picked up another copy of Infinity as an add-on).

Thanks for your support so far! Next stop: silk-screened PCBs at $230K!

Silk-Screened PCBs Unlocked!
over 4 years ago – Thu, Aug 26, 2021 at 05:04:01 PM

Another stretch goal is in the books, as we hit $230,000! In case the custom molded cartridge wasn’t enough to make Infinity stand out, the PCB will now be getting a makeover as well, with a silk-screened Infinity logo. This particular stretch goal seemed to generate some excitement when we initially announced it, so we’re happy to be able to provide this extra little visual touch! Now if you’re looking to keep this special cartridge safe with style, let’s keep pushing towards our $240,000 goal, where the included clear cartridge protector transforms into a first-of-its-kind opaque black!

Introducing the Next Wave of Stretch Goals!
over 4 years ago – Thu, Aug 26, 2021 at 04:47:32 PM

As you’ve been so efficient in clearing all of our stretch goals, we wanted to be able to offer a little more to work towards. With that in mind, we’re happy to share our newest round of stretch goals!

To start off, we’ve got some bonuses for all pledges at “Standard Edition” and above. Once we hit $225,000, the aforementioned pledge levels will include a box protector, currently offered as an optional add-on, to ensure anyone looking to display their copy of Infinity is able to keep the box safe from dirt and dust. Anyone who added the boxes as add-ons can simply take them out of their pledge.

At $230,000, we will be able to put the extra money towards making Infinity a little bit more unique. To complement the custom cartridge that was unlocked at $30,000, all cartridges will have the Infinity logo silk-screened in white onto the back of the PCB. Together, this will make for a striking and visually unique cartridge that stands out in any collection!

To continue with the box protector’s theme of keeping your copy of Infinity safe, for anyone looking to take their game on the road, we will also be upgrading the included cartridge protector to an opaque black cartridge protector at $240,000, never seen before.

For a milestone like $250,000, we’ve got a big stretch goal planned. Some of you might have already seen us mention the idea, but if we’re able to reach this level of funding, there will be a whole new way to enjoy Infinity as it gets ported to release on Steam!

Between $260K and $270K, there are six in-game artwork stills to be unlocked. These will act to highlight certain “big moments” in the game, providing a detailed in-game depiction of particular scenes or events to further immerse yourself in the story of Infinity.

Finally, at $275,000 we will unlock another exciting feature, as Infinity gets enhanced for the GBA! For anyone who isn’t familiar, a very small number of GBC games, towards the end of the console’s lifespan, received some “bonus content” that was available only when playing on a GBA; for example, the Advance Shop in Oracle of Ages / Seasons, which was only accessible when playing on a GBA and allowed you to purchase some unique items! While the exact content is still being discussed, this stretch goal means there will be some extra content to access when playing on GBA/SP!

Thank you to everyone for your incredible support thus far, and he’s hoping we can get through a few more stretch goals!

The Status of the Infinity Source Code
over 4 years ago – Tue, Aug 24, 2021 at 12:53:37 PM

As some of you may be aware, incomplete source code for Infinity was made available in 2016. When we had initially announced our plan to bring Infinity to Kickstarter, we had mentioned our desire to make the source code available again a few months after the release of the game. As we’ve had a few questions regarding the status of this source code, we wanted to make this more clear in the campaign, as well as in the FAQ.

While we don’t have a firm timeline, the Infinity source code, including any revision we have done to complete the game, will be released under a creative commons non-commercial license (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). We hope that having this completed source code available in this way continues to foster growth in the retro gaming community - in particular the development community - to encourage developers to continue to work on titles for this great console!
