June Update!

June is here, and we wanted to take the opportunity to provide an update to quickly summarize where we stand on Infinity. We’ve put in a lot of work to get to this point, and the pace only stands to increase as we enter the testing phase. So, let’s recap!
Preparing for Testing
Being our first foray into game development, there were bound to be some unanticipated hurdles, and facilitating the testing process proved to be exactly that. Further complicated by the Kickstarter campaign exceeding our expectations and leaving us with a lot of backers, we soon came to the realization that we weren’t entirely sure how to coordinate QA testing among a couple hundred people in an organized and efficient manner.
Luckily, as you’re likely aware, PleaseFix proved to be our saving grace. This bug testing platform is currently being used by games like Star Citizen and Rainbow Six Siege, and it has all the tools needed for us to make the testing process as easy as possible.
Being a newer platform, however, there was some setup that needed to be done in order to get the client running to our specifications. Now, we’ve been testing the Infinity PleaseFix client with a select few testers, and everything seems good and ready to go! Nonetheless, this hurdle of preparing an efficient QA process did delay the start of testing more than anticipated.
The Testing Process
With that said, we are now in a position to start testing very soon. In fact, any backer’s with the Tester role can expect to get started in about a week! So, as we transition into the testing phase, we wanted to give an idea of how the process will work.
As mentioned, any backer with the Tester role can expect to receive an email in about a week, containing links to the PleaseFix client and the current build of the testing ROM, as well as some info to get you started. It’s worth noting that these emails will be coming from a new address: [email protected] so be sure to whitelist that address and keep an eye on your spam folder just in case, so that you don’t miss it.
Additionally, we will be sharing all the aforementioned info on our Discord channel. On that note, we would recommend that you log into the Discord server if you haven’t already, especially if you are a tester. While we will be sharing any “big” information through all our channels including email, Discord will be our primary method of day-to-day communication; so if you want to be sure to stay up to date with everything, Discord is the place to be.
Looking Ahead
So, that’s where Infinity stands so far! We’re looking forward to getting everyone on PleaseFix and getting started on the testing process. Despite the aforementioned delays in getting to this point, we are aiming towards a deadline of having development for Infinity completed for the Game Boy Color by the end of the year, with Switch and Steam ports following next year.
In the meantime, we’ve got plenty of testing to do; not just for the game itself, but all the manufactured components that will make Infinity a reality. We’ll be sure to keep the updates coming as we receive new production samples and hit new milestones in the development process.
Until then, we’ve got plenty to keep us busy, so stay tuned!

Cartridge Samples are In!
– Thu, Apr 28, 2022 at 10:34:29 PM
Just a quick update today, as we’ve received the first sample of our cartridges! While we’ve manufactured DMG cartridges in the past, this was our first time delving into the Game Boy Color cartridge, and we’re pretty happy with the results so far!
Here are the cartridge samples! Please note that the cartridge colour is only for testing purposes :)
We’ve still got some more testing to do, as before we finalize the mould, we want to ensure that the cartridge works well in any situation that it might be used in - Game Boy Color and GBA, original shells and aftermarket shells, and so forth. Once all those variables have been tested and confirmed, all that remains is finalizing the logo, and these custom Infinity cartridges will be ready to go!
Infinity Update: March 2022

Development of Infinity continues, and we have some updates to share in the meantime. So, let’s do a quick rundown of what is new with Infinity!
First of all, as we approach the beta testing phase, we are happy to announce that we will be using PleaseFixas our bug reporting platform. We were eager to find a solution that allowed testers to provide their input both effortlessly and in a meaningful way. We feel that this platform will enable us to transparently address the issues that are impacting players the most. Moreover, we can easily prioritize these issues to ensure the efficient delivery of the most enjoyable gameplay experience possible. Being marketed as the world’s first player driven, socially engaged bug reporting and resolution platform, PleaseFix is a great tool in the pursuit of our goals. Even better, the company behind PleaseFix, Turbulent, is based alongside us here in Montréal; when you have such talented people so close, the opportunity to work with them becomes hard to pass up! While it’s a newer platform, it’s already been employed for QA testing in Cloud Imperium Games’ Star Citizen and Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege, and we’re happy to have signed on as their latest client.
Additionally, we are continuing work on our cartridge mold, and exploring the best means of getting the Infinity logo onto the cartridges. While the original plan was to have the logo cast into the mold, the logo does have quite a bit of detail in what is ultimately a small space, so we are also exploring the possibility of having the logo laser-etched into the cartridge, as the added precision of a laser might allow us to provide a more detailed and ultimately more visually pleasing end product.
Finally, we are also beginning to move forward with some of the Kickstarter rewards. Art prints, sticker sheets, pins, cards, console stands, cartridge protectors, and box protectors will be entering production soon, so we hope to have some samples to share with all of you in the near future!
That’s all for this update. The production of some of the physical items coupled with the approaching beta testing means we’re starting to take some big steps, and we’re looking forward to showing off some exciting things in the next update!

Another very brief update today, as we just want to remind everyone that the Discord invites for the “Backer” tier will be going out today, as mentioned in the previous update. Just a reminder that the invitation links will expire in seven days, so be sure to join as soon as possible!
For anyone who pledged for the “Tester” role, you should have received your invitation last week. If any Testers didn’t receive an invite, please let us know so we can look into it.
Thank you, and we look forward to discussing Infinity with all of you on the Discord server!
